Dave Bates founded Total Guitar in 1998. Here he makes available free online guitar lessons which feature tab and audio files.
Dave is featured in the Metal Method "Ozzy Styles" guitar instructional video which is distributed worldwide. In addition to this, Dave is also featured in
two other videos - "Stevie Ray Vaughn Style" and "The Metal Video".
Dave is a graduate of Musician’s Institute. He has over
20 years experience as a player/teacher and has amassed numerous studio and club dates nationally. He has
done clinics for T.C. Electronics and Drum TV. He has been featured in a weekly
online guitar lesson for Rock Guitar Online. Dave played guitar in the House Band on the T.V. set of the Warner Brother's Show "Zoe" and
is also the Staff Guitarist on the show Drum TV.
Dave is currently at work tracking his debut instrumental guitar CD titled "The Trouble With You...".
He maintains a busy performance schedule.
In the midst of all of this, Dave still finds time to teach guitar at Instrumental Music in California.
